Indianswatcher – Single Purpose Software Agent

We describe a simple agent which performs a specific task reliably and with little maintenance and user intervention required. The agent task is to monitor recent game results involving the Cleveland Indians baseball team by examining the content and structure of the official team webserver. A brief summary of each new game result is reported to the user. We outline a simple architecture for keeping track of information (monitoring agent applications), outline issues, problems, and future areas of research with a view to developing a framework for automated construction of monitoring agent applications.
